The Warden's handbook

Grimoire

How a shard of the fallen star is called into glass, and what keeps it alive onchain.

  1. Rite 01

    Choose a Wayfarer

Four explorers are drawn from your address. Keep one or reroll.

  2. Rite 02

    Enter the Isle

Walk with WASD or the touch stick; jump, wave, sit a while, fish off the pier, pet the cat. Villagers drop hints; three star shards hide a 36th house.

  3. Rite 03

    Knock on a House

35 houses, from Emberhearth Cottage (500) down to tiny Eclipse Belfry (10). Each door shows what is left, the price and its deck: the smaller the house, the luckier.

  4. Rite 04

    Call the Shards

Pick how many (up to 20 at once, within your wallet's limit) and sign once. The house panel shows the live price and how many your wallet may still summon.

  5. Rite 05

    Break the Seal

Reliquaries flip open one by one, drawn from the seed the contract stored for your batch.

  6. Rite 06

    Carry Them Home

Your Starbits wait in the Satchel: draw a Star Sigil, pass the Ember, swear oaths.

Inside the Glass

Art · fully onchain SVG

Drawn by the Chain

A 64 × 64 canvas of rects and paths, under 24 KB, animated with CSS inside the SVG. The contract builds the JSON and image itself: no IPFS, no server.
Token · ERC721A

Forged in Batches

A batch of 20 costs close to a single mint. Ids start at 1, and each token keeps its living state in one storage slot.
Seed · randomness

Star-Seeded Fate

Each summon hashes the previous seed with prevrandao, the last blockhash, sender, first id, quantity and time. The reveal is instant; a contract caller could revert a roll it dislikes, which only touches cosmetic traits inside the house it chose.
Living mechanics

Living Lore

  • Wandering Ember. Moves after 1 hour; anyone may seize it after 72.
  • Oath. Two owners bind two Starbits. Breaking it leaves a scar.
  • Rootbloom. Moss and flowers at 7, 30, 90 and 180 days held.
  • Star Sigil. Draw up to eight stars in the glass. Sworn Starbits can share one gold star.
  • Hearth Hour. UTC Dawn 05–08, Day 08–17, Dusk 17–20, Night 20–05.
Coming soon · not live

Beyond the Horizon

Ideas the Isle is growing toward. None of this is live, and none of it is promised: plans can change or be dropped.

  • Fishing

Cast off the pier, as you already can. Today the fish are just for fun. One day a catch may count as a resource on the Isle.

  • Farming

Tend the fields at Millbrook Farm through the Hearth Hours. Today the crops are scenery. One day a harvest may count as a resource.

  • Quests

Errands from the villagers that send you across the Isle. Today the Isle is free to wander. Quests are only an idea for now.

Trading resources

One idea is a way to exchange resources, possibly for ETH. If it ever comes, it will be a separate system with its own contract and its own funding, announced and reviewed on its own. It does not exist today. Nothing here is an offer, and owning a Starbit earns nothing. The Starbitarium contract pays no rewards: the ETH it keeps (mint payments and marketplace fees) leaves only through the owner’s withdraw.

Trade · OpenSea

Changing Hands

Starbits are ERC-721 tokens and trade on OpenSea. A sale is a transfer: the Ember and the Star Sigil go with it, Rootbloom starts again for the new keeper, and a sworn Starbit breaks its oath and takes a scar. The Ember keeps its clock through a sale, so one that has rested 72 hours can be seized by anyone, the seller included, right after it. The collection
